Measuring Guide
The below is just a guide. We recommend that whenever possible you get a qualified seamstress to measure your dress size. Always get someone else to make the measurements for you: measuring yourself will give inaccurate numbers and could lead to disappointment. Measure with undergarments similar to those you will wear with your dress; do not measure over other clothing.
Bust
Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement.
Waist
This is the smallest part of your waist. Typically it`s an inch or so above your belly button. Also known as the natural waistline.
Hips
This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline. This measurement is not needed for full gowns.
Hollow to Hem
This is the length from your hollow ( the hollow just under your neck ) to your heels. (Take the tape from your front, with bare foot ). You should stand upright and your feet should keep together.
Shipping Information for Tailor-Made Dresses

Whether you choose a standard size or give us your custom measurements, all our dresses suits are personally tailored for you from scratch. Because of this, shipping time and our return policy are different for these special items.

Shipping Time
Total Shipping Time is based on the time it will take to tailor your dresses + the time taken for the finished dress to be shipped to you.

Formal Dresses
It will take 12-15 working days to tailor your dresses by professional dressmaker. It will then take about 3-8 working days for the package travel from our facilities to your destination, the exact shipping time is based on the shipping company (UPS, DHL, TNT ,etc) standard.


Wedding Dresses
It will take 15-17 working days to tailor your dresses by professional dressmaker. Also it will take about 3-8 working days for the package travel from our facilities to your destination, the exact shipping time is based on the shipping company (UPS, DHL, TNT ,etc) standard.


Chinese Dresses
Our standard Chinese Dresses take 6 - 8 working days for our professional tailors to make. Our special Hand-Embroidered Chinese Dresses take 20-22 working days for our professional tailors to make. All Chinese dresses take a further 3-8 working days to ship from us to you. Exact shipping times are based on the shipping company (e.g. UPS, DHL, TNT) standard.

Returning for replacement and refund

Returning for replacement and refund

All returns must be sent within 7 days of the shipment being delivered. We only accept dresses in their original condition- unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and undamaged - and must have the tags intact and still attached. Please provide a detailed explanation in the return package.

1.  Quality Issues:

1.  If our staff finds that the merchandise is defective as described, you will receive a refund for the purchase price plus shipping and handling fees.

2.  If we find that the merchandise is not defective in any way or has been misused, then the merchandise will be shipped back to you with no refund.

2.  Size Errors:

Please be aware that due to the nature of the handwork required, the finished gown may vary approximately 1" in either direction of specified measurements.

1.  All dresses are made or come with margins for altering and tailoring if desired. If the dress size did not arrive in the specification as one ordered, one can choose to make the adjustments at a local tailor, in which case we will reimburse the tailoring costs as long as the costs does not exceed the original price of the dress by 50%. If the tailoring costs exceed the original price of the dress by 50%, we will reimburse only up to the amount equal to 50% of the dress's original cost.

2.  We provide a modification service for our customers, who can send back the dress to us and get the dress modified within 7 working days. In this case, we are responsible for all shipping costs.

3.  Customers can also return a dress with measurement errors, and will receive a refund for the purchase price plus shipping and handling fees.

3.  Color Errors:

If the color of the delivered dress is not what was ordered, you are eligible for a full refund. (This does not apply if the color difference is caused by one's display monitor. Please purchase our fabric swatch for confirmation before ordering your dress.)

However, any errors regarding size/color that were made during purchasing of our products will not be eligible for refunds.In this case, we can provide a size modification service to our customers for free, with customers only paying for the shipping fee. A dress modification is normally done in 7 working days.

Order Cancellations
All dress orders canceled within 72 hours of purchase will be eligible for a full refund. All dress orders canceled after 72 hours will be eligible for a 25% partial refund.

Overdue Products
If for any reason, your order was not shipped within the time statedand arrives late, but not by more than 10 days, you will be eligible for a complete refund, or a 30% reimbursement upon the delivery of the overdue product. If the product is overdue by more than 10 days, customers are eligible for a full refund. If the dress is not returned, only the shipping fee is paid by customers.

Ideaslight.com uses 395 Taiwan Satin, which is very soft, doesn't wrinkle easily, is easy to iron and wash and has a natural glossy shine. It is also heavier than other types of satin with an extra 30-35 g/m2.

The individuals who are stealing our product images use satin that is only 120-125 g/m2, which is lower in quality, has an underwhelming gloss, is uncomfortable to touch and becomes wrinkled easily.

The bones are capped so they don't push through the lining and they follow your curves to add support and make your body look great, even without a bra.

Even if there is some fluctuation in the size you need, all our dresses are made with a margin for modification or alteration. The modification or alteration can be made by your local tailor.

^Top What modifications and alterations are normally done to a dress to make it fit?

A number of alterations can be made:
1) Side seams and Back Seams - The side seams and back seam in the torso can be taken in or let out to make a wedding dress fit a bride. This is true even for gowns ordered to size. Wedding gowns are usually made to allow the side seams to be let out up to 3 inches or 1-2 sizes*.
Additionally, the back seam often can be let out slightly to size up further.
*Depending on the gown
2) Shoulders - It is also common for shoulder seams to be taken in to bring up a gown.
3) Hem - The length of a dress can be shortened only and is affected by the height of the shoe you are planning to wear. Some gowns can only be shortened from the waist. Other gowns can only be shortened by taking up the hemline.
4) Bustle - The bustle is a way to hook the train up in the back so that the dress can be worn comfortably after the ceremony. Bustling a dress is part of the alterations for any gown that has an attached train.

Obviously, a number of factors go into the overall cost of alterations. Depending on the city you live, your seamstress, and the designer and details of your gown. Then if you want to change the style of it in some way, that may also increase the cost of your alteration. We have included below some guidelines to give you an idea of how much seamstresses generally charge for each type of alteration.
Hem (alters length) $75.00 and up
Side Seams/backseams: (alters fit of bodice) $45.00 and up
Shoulders: (raises gown up) $25.00 and up
Sleeves: (to alter length) $35.00 and up
Sleeves: (to change style) $40.00 and up

It will take 15-17 working days to tailor your wedding dresses and 12-15 days for formal dresses by the professional dressmaker. Also it will take about 3-8 working days for the package to travel from our facilities to your destination, the exact shipping time is based on the shipping company (UPS, DHL, TNT, etc) standard.

^Top What is a Fast Track order?

Delivery for Fast Track orders is approximately 1-2 weeks dependent upon the manufacturer's schedule. The fee for the Fast Track service is dependent on the designer and will be displayed on the product page and will be added to your total price. Fast Track service is not available for all dresses.

^Top When should I order?

Orders take 2-3 weeks for delivery from the designer to your place. Fast Track order dresses are shipped from our manufacturers within 1-2 weeks of the purchase depending on availability.
Please place your order as far as in advance of your wedding date as possible. By doing so, you will allow ample time for production and shipping. It also affords you a comfortable time frame to accommodate any alterations if necessary.

^Top What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment either by Credit Card, PayPal, Western Union or direct wire transfer.

^Top What about pressing?

Pressing for any gown is done after alterations and a few days before your wedding. It can be done either by your seamstress or a dry cleaner. Be sure to ask your seamstress whether they will be pressing the gown. There usually is an additional charge for this service other than your alteration cost. If the wedding will be in another state/country than that of where the alterations are being done you will need to find someone else to press your gown. The pressing should be done as close to the wedding date and the wedding site as possible. Be sure to find out in advance how much time they will need to press the gown. Some places will require the gown 72 hours before the wedding.

    The Dress Is Perfect!

    I received my Kate Hudson dress yesterday via UPS. I had it 3 day shipped and it was here in 2! Don't be afraid of the small box it comes in.They take wonderful care in wrapping the dress. IT IS PERFECT! You definitely need to go by the size chart they give you... mine was right on the money. I will not need alterations except at the bottom :) It's beautiful! I looks like it cost WAY more than 250 dollars. The time and attention to detail is definitely shown in the making of this dress. I can't say thank you enough to anyone involved in making this dress! I'm so excited! Don't be afraid to order from this company... you will not be disappointed! The only thing that I noticed is that they did not make it a sweet heart neckline, they just did it straight across, but turns out I like it better that way :)

    Hey people, I uploaded pictures of the dress. It is a european size 36 and fits perfectly. Material is rather tulle than organza, but is nicely fluffy and layery. The material is also rather transparent, that is why I wear a bra underneath. I ordered several dresses, all are very nicely made, excellent craftsmanship. I opted for a different dress, and don′t need this one anymore. If anyone is interestes in buying, I would give it away for 120 dollar plus shipping to your country from germany. Email me at spam@nikita.info (don't worry, it will get to me). Accept Paypal. Dress is lightweight, more 1-1,5 kilos. It had more flowers attached where the white flower is, I removed them for the picture. I could reattach them, but I reccommend using different (maybe real) flowers, because the colors are very bright.

    the material of the dress looks a bit different from the picture itself, but it was still a gorgeous dress, the only problem i had with it was the size chart. i chose a medium based on the chart and i ended up having to alter it because i needed a small which made the ruffles of the side of the dress unattractive. other than that this dress was perfect for my senior prom, it made me look good when i won princess ;]

    Amazing!

    Hey, I received the dress yesterday and it is absolutely amazing - it looks exactly like the picture, the back is exactly the same as the picture (for those that were wondering!) The lining is double lined, the first layer is like a cotton material, which i guess is to stop the satin from becoming too static and sticking to your legs, and the second layer is made from satin. I got it made in champagne, and it really is a lovely colour so I would definately recommend it! There is a built in bra in the dress, with a separate 'bra strap' concealed undernearth the strip at the back of the dress and there is also boning inside the bodice, which is perfect for keeping the dress up! I hope this review helps! xo

    Hi, I ordered this dress March 21 and it arrived today 6th May, just in time for my formal which was on the 8th May. I ordered the dress in black and I would highly recommend black to anyone interested in this dress. It looks absolutely stunning on and when it came to the night of the formal I received endless complements (and am still being talked about at school to this day). My only suggestions would be to order it in HEAPS OF TIME, and to be made tailored to you (I had to get the dress slightly altered around the waist area when it arrived. Hope this helps girls!!

    Great Brides Maid Dress

    I was looking for something with sleeves in a reasonable price range and came across this dress. I ordered 10 total in 2 colors and several sizes. The blue and the lavender for alternating colors in the bridal party. Here are a couple of pictures. There are small sleeves that you cannot see in the websites picture here. you can see what I'm referring to in the picture of my daughter in both colors that I'm posting. We ended up cutting the sleeves off all 10 dresses. I'm very pleased with the blue (turquoise) color. It's very bright. The fabric is not soft like chiffon but still very good. Light and comfortable. Hopefully to post more pictures later after the wedding

    Beautiful Dress

    I'm eloping to Las Vegas to get married. I needed a simple knee length white dress. I was reluctant to buy online for all the obvious reasons. I spent two months trying to find a dress. So, on May 11th, I decided to order it. I had a back-up dress just in case. I got my dress today. It's perfect. It fits like a glove. It's top quality workmanship. The neckline shows that is kinda heart shaped, but it's not, it goes straight across. That is not a problem it is still beautiful. The belt is not attached and there are no loops, but i'm glad because it looks better without a belt. I am so very pleased with my purchase. The sizing is true. I wear a 16W dress and that is what i ordered. It is not flattering to my figure but i don't have a flattering figure LOL. I have pics. My 6yr old Grandson took them so please excuse. If you are thinking about buying from this site, I encourage you to do so. Just be sure to know your correct size.

    Amazing Dress!

    Amazing dress! This dress completely exceeded my expectations. The embroidery is phenominal. The dress is covered in intricate detailing. The pictures do not do it justice. All the embroidery around the midsection is completely emersed in bead work. It comes with a very nice breathable garment bag as well. I did the exact size and it is a perfect fit. Im a larger woman, about a size 14-16 normally. The dress is amazing regardless of size. I haven't figured out how to tie the train up for the reception yet, but i'm sure i will think of something. This dress is a complete steal at 229$. I saw similar dresses retail at more then 3000$. I came across this dress looking for something with straps vs the 98% of strapless dresses right now. I was forced to turn to online shopping, which i wouldn't normally risk for clothing of any kind, but im very pleased that i did. My daughter has already asked to have this dress for her wedding! It's exactly what i wanted and so beautiful i was completely shocked by how wonderful it was. I dont have great pictures yet because the wedding isn't until July 17th but here are a couple. Hopefully i can post more later.
